Position Summary:

Full time, 180-day contracted position with a summer supplemental contract of 40 days. This position coordinates the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Responsibilities include: managing a teaching load which aligns with College policy; marketing of the program to the community; maintaining an active program advisory committee; maintaining program's strategic plan; maintaining the program's curriculum; recruiting full-time and adjunct faculty members; scheduling courses; recruiting and admitting students to the program; assisting in providing academic advising and in promoting student retention; and maintaining student records and laboratory facilities. The individual is responsible for the management and administration of the program, including planning, evaluation, budgeting, selection of faculty and staff, maintenance of accreditation, and commitment to strategies for professional development. The individual in this position prepares and delivers high-quality day, evening, weekend, satellite, and/or online courses. Additional responsibilities include academic advising; research and development of potential program and/or certificate offerings; participation on department, division, and college committees and events; community involvement; professional development; marketing of programs; articulation with other colleges; and other duties as assigned by the department. Must be proficient in the use of computers and software applications.

Education Requirements:

Master's degree required.


Experience/Qualifications Requirements:

The program director must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of occupational therapy, including practice as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant, administrative or supervisory experience, and at least 2 years experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level. The coordinator must have an understanding of and experience with occupational therapy assistants. Must be able to develop and implement innovative approaches to the learning environment. Must possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to function effectively and productively in team-based initiatives is crucial.


Licensure or Certification Requirements:

Must be a registered occupational therapist or certified occupational therapy assistant who is licensed in the state of Ohio.
